Iranian New Year

Now rooz is Iranian new year. Iranian people celebrate their new year on 21 of March which is the beginning of the spring. This ceremony is related to ancient Persia. For new year we set a special table which includes seven different dishes. The name of each one start by letter “S “ in Farsi; in addition, they are symbols of valuable things in life. Whole family sit together around the table and make wishes for the coming year. When the new year begins, we hug and kiss each other. Then the older members of family give presents to youngers. In the first few days we are going to visit our families and friends and spend our time together.
